JUSTICE SYSTEM IS BOUGHT AND SOLD
Editor:
I am concerned about the legal system in West Virginia, state and federal.
I saw on the local news where a man named Brian Coster killed a woman while
he was driving drunk and only received one year in the regional jail - only
one year for killing a woman while he was drunk driving. This is blowing my
mind. I see 18-year-old kids getting ready to go to prison for five to
seven years for first-time drug offenses. I would like to see the Gazette
address the issue. It seems like the justice system in West Virginia can be
bought and sold. Just a little bit of money can make it OK to kill someone
while non-violent crimes warrant more prison time. I'm just a concerned
citizen who knows the prison system is full of drug dealers while the
murderers are sitting at home.
