POT PRINCESS A REHAB WASHOUT

January 15, 2005 -- NYU's notorious "Pot Princess" has flunked out of an
Idaho rehab clinic, prosecutors complained yesterday, as they demanded the
petite and privileged young drug dealer go back to jail.

Assistant District Attorney Dan Rather, son of the CBS anchor, told
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon that Julia Diaco is
continuing to live at the Clearview clinic -- but without treatment -- until
her next move is decided.

"That's unacceptable," Rather said, demanding that Diaco, 18, be moved
immediately to a "structured environment" -- meaning jail -- until transfer
to another rehab program.

But Diaco's lawyer, Paul Shechtman, said Diaco hadn't failed the program --
the program had failed her, by being ill-suited to her needs.
