ILLEGAL DRUG USERS CREATE THE DEMAND
To the Editor,
This is to praise Tom Bishop for his letter regarding the battle against
the abuse of drugs (Enforcement, education needed, Jan. 8).
It is truly surprising to me that there has never been a statement made
that illegal drug users create the demand for the drugs and contribute
chiefly to all the crime, even the murders, that are part of the huge drug
scene.
No demand, no supply; it is as simple as that.
In addition to law-breaking, illegal drug buying entails a massive drain on
our economy, which has to be borne by all the innocent taxpayers.
