SCHOOLS FORCED INTO ZERO-TOLERANCE
Regarding zero-tolerance policies, school districts are forced to adopt
such policies because they know that if they don't expel the girl who
brings nail clippers, the ACLU or some other bleeding-heart organization
will accuse them of unequal treatment when they expel the student who
brings a 7-inch knife to school. They know that if they don't expel the
student who brings aspirin to school, they will be accused of
discrimination when they expel the student who brings "ecstasy."
This results in thousands and thousands of dollars in litigation fees, but
it is the unfortunate legacy of liberalism.
