CAN'T KEEP DRUGS OUT OF PRISONS

Sir, I'm writing about: "DRUG WAR RAGES IN PRISON" (17 Jan. 05). If you
cannot keep illegal drugs out of your highest-security prisons, and
obviously you cannot, how do you reasonably expect to be able to keep
illegal drugs out of your country with thousands of miles of coastline?

Perhaps when you get the answer, could you share the answer with the
politicians on the other side of the pond? You know, the country with the
huge statue proclaiming liberty for all, but with more prisoners than any
other country in history.
