MARIJUANA MAKES LUNGS GO TO POT
Tobacco Health Risks Also Linked To Dope In New Study
TORONTO -- Smoking marijuana can cause the same health problems as smoking
cigarettes, a new study shows. The study found that smoking marijuana can
lead to symptoms such as an increased risk of chronic bronchitis, phlegm
production, wheezing, shortness of breath, reduced lung function, coughing
on most days and chest sounds without actually having a cold.
Marijuana smoking may also increase the risk of respiratory exposure by
infectious organisms.
"It is suggested that marijuana used in the smoking form is not a harmless
activity," said lead author Dr. Brent A. Moore.
