STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE DID THE RIGHT THING
As a resident of Leon County and a taxpayer, I want to applaud Assistant
State Attorney Matt Smith and State Attorney Willie Meggs for having the
courage to go forward with the Corey Fuller trial in the face of what
obviously was complete indifference on the part of the local community.
As a God-fearing Christian, I recognize that the sins one commits in the
privacy of his or her own home (gambling, gay sex, pot smoking) are seen by
God, if not the rest of the community.
By bringing the coercive power of the state into homes of the citizens of
Tallahassee in order to punish them for doing things God wouldn't approve
of, Mr. Smith, Mr. Meggs and the Leon County Sheriff's Office are indeed
doing the Lord's work, and for that I commend them.
