NORML SUPPORTS NAOMI
To the editor:
Is it any wonder that the NAOMI organizers are skittish about media
exposure ("Wheels fall off media strategy," Feb. 2).
Remember, back in September of 2004, the CTV helicopter was conveniently
hovering above Commercial Drive while the Da Kine Smoke and Beverage Shop
was being raided. This happened after operator Carol Gwilt let so-called
"sympathetic" media sources know about her store.
The NAOMI trial should be allowed to operate unfettered, since theirs is
one of the few fresh approaches to managing hard drugs that this continent
has ever seen.
