WHERE IS THE REAL SMOKING GATEWAY?
I'm writing about Kirk Tousaw's thoughtful letter "Pot Politico Fired
Up by Addiction Story" [Letters, February 3-10].
I'd like to add that most marijuana users are only interested in
marijuana and no other recreational drugs. However, because marijuana
is illegal, it is often sold by people who sell other, much more
dangerous drugs.
And they often offer free samples of the more dangerous drugs to their
marijuana customers. Thus the gateway effect.
Legalize marijuana and you close the gateway.
