PROSTITUES OUTNUMBER THE NEEDLES
Editor:
In all seriousness, how does a safe injection site help, other than by
providing a place for people to go to do illegal drugs?
I sure don't want it near my house and I can't expect anyone else in his or
her right mind would want it near their house. It will also attract more
junkies from Merritt, Chase, Clearwater or any other nearby places.
So now we have more addicts wandering the streets, stealing your car
stereo, or anything else of value so they can go get a quick fix - and now
even quicker because they won't have to look for it.
We might as well add a second storey to the house for hookers, too!
We need to get (these people) off the street and cleaned up.
I've lived in Kamloops for probably 15 years and I really can't say I've
seen too many needles on the ground, but I have had to walk past
prostitutes almost every day for the past four years, even on my way to school.
By the way, I really enjoyed Sunday's front-page article on the statues. It
brightened up my day.
