A SICK, INNOCENT VICTIM
I am the mother of a 23-year-old daughter whose drug of choice was crystal
meth.
This cheap, highly addictive drug produces a high that can last up to 48
hours and includes ingredients such as lye, ether and even drain cleaner.
The people selling this drug don't tell kids this. They just want to get
rich at the expense of their sick and innocent victims.
I began noticing drastic changes in my daughter when she became very
paranoid, believing people were following her.
She believed her boyfriend had planted a hearing device inside her head and
complained about voices that would torment her day and night, even when she
wasn't high.
She began seeing things that weren't there and she pleaded with me to take
her to the doctor to have this device removed.
She began to cut at herself, saying the physical pain was more bearable
than the mental pain.
At one point, she actually believed I had hired a hit man to have her killed.
We had her committed to the psychiatric ward on several occasions. But they
would only sedate her until she became stable and then release her.
Eventually, after she showed symptoms of schizophrenia, she was placed on
anti-psychotic drugs and sent to Riverview Hospital.
I have sent my daughter to a safe place hundreds of miles from here, and
she is finally getting the help she needs to heal.
Crystal meth is killing our children and destroying our families.
