FREE THESE WOMEN
RE "Grit delegates to mull legalizing prostitution" (Feb. 23): As a
resident of Hintonburg, I cannot stress enough how important the idea of
regulated prostitution is. I see these women, so sick and strung out on
drugs, standing on my street corners at 8:30 in the morning, and serving
their tricks in the parking lot across the street. They aren't women
looking for sex, they are people who are willing to do just about anything
for money, to pay for their drugs. The worst part is, a lot of the cars
picking these women up have diplomatic plates.
How long before our government starts treating this public health issue
with the sensible solutions it deserves? How long before we free these
women from their slavery to the crack dealers and pimps?
