BACK AWAY FROM ALL DRUGS

The Feb. 24 editorial cartoon loosely emphasized the drug plan hypocrisy in
Major League Baseball, if not in general, that is mirrored in sports, in
America and all around the balance of globe.

As baseball deals with athletes who use drugs, it is important to remember
that baseball has itself anointed an "official" drug that enhances its
revenues.

MLB's "official" drug is also undeniably the planet's most killing drug.
MLB chose alcohol as its "official" drug and chose Anheuser-Busch, through
Budweiser, as its "official" drug pusher.

If MLB wants to credibly establish and monitor a coherent drug policy it
must first dissociate itself from validating, endorsing and profiting from
the use of drugs by anyone, anywhere for any reason.

In the discontinuance of an "official beer," MLB could provide a shining
example to all sports, all Americans and to all of humanity.
