PROHIBITION NOT THE ANSWER
I feel great sympathy for the families of the RCMP officers killed
trying to enforce the prohibition of marijuana. Prohibition didn't
work for alcohol, and it won't work for illicit drugs.
It's been shown that marijuana's physical effects are no worse than
alcohol or tobacco, so advocates argue that it should be legal. On the
other side, it's argued you can see the legacy of legal alcohol and
tobacco in the emergency wards and hospitals, so why add to that
misery with another intoxicant?
Simply so police won't die trying to keep it off the streets.
Prohibition drives the price up to the point where people are willing
to kill for the profit. Legalization means you take control back from
thugs and murderers.
