BLAME CHRONIC USE OF MARIJUANA
Re: "Four officers killed," March 4.
The shooter had been using marijuana since he was 14 or 15. It is well
documented that one of the most dangerous effects of chronic marijuana
use is that it can cause one's brain to believe that the bizarre is
normal.
At the same time, it can cause the individual to lose some of their
his or her ability to recognize dangerous situations, making the
individual unnaturally fearless. Note also that drug-users often deal
poorly with stressful situations.
Gee, is it just possible that chronic use of marijuana may have been
more to blame for this outrageous act of murder than whether or not
the drug was legal or illegal?
Do we really need to legalize this dangerous drug so we have more
"crazy" people out there using guns, driving high-speed cars and maybe
even flying our commercial aircraft?
