FEDS HAVE LOST FOCUS

I blame not only the evil man who killed these four RCMP officers, but also
our Liberal government in Ottawa. Blood is on their hands.

The federal Justice Department has paid only lip service to enforcing
penalties for those found guilty of marijuana grow operations. The maximum
penalty is 14 years in jail, but the justice system generally hands out
$1,000 fines and conditional sentences.

Public Safety Minister Anne McLellan says the government may have to double
the maximum penalties. What? The sentences handed out have never been
remotely close to the maximum.

The same Liberal government is now introducing legislation to make
marijuana possession legal. Does that mean these young men died for nothing?

The government should be supporting the brave RCMP officers by insisting on
harsh sentences that deter marijuana grow-ops. Instead, they spend $2
billion on a gun registry that doesn't do anything to protect the RCMP or
our citizens.
