NEW RESIDENTIAL CENTRE WILL TREAT ADDICTIONS
Vancouver -- Young people dealing with drug and alcohol addiction
will soon be able to get long-term residential care to try to beat
their habits.
Health Minister George Abbott says addicts between the ages of 14 and
24 will be able to enter the program after stopping the use of
alcohol and drugs.
They can stay for six months to a year in a treatment centre being
set up in the Okanagan Valley town of Keremeos.
The government will provide $2.4-million a year for the centre's
operating costs.
