YOUTH DRUG POLICY

Re the Feb. 2 letter, "Youth drug policy is ruining lives": The youth drug
policy (when police officers go undercover to get children to sell them
drugs and then arrest them) would not be a problem if children were not
selling drugs in the first place.

Kids are not going to just tell the officer that they have drugs on them
when they are asked. Furthermore, I would like to think that most parents
would rather have their children in juvenile hall than have them end up
dead because of an overdose or a violent argument. If going undercover to
stop drug crime is what the police have to do, then so be it.
