PRO-POT ADVOCATES AT WORK
They Pounce On Fact There Was No Grow-Op At Farm
The pro-pot advocates are out in full force. My first call on Tuesday
morning took me to task for an editorial published Sunday, which noted that
the Alberta farm where four RCMP officers were slain was used to grow
marijuana.
As we all know now (and did not several days ago), there was a total of 20
plants growing at the farm. Obviously, the marijuana had little or nothing
to do with the shooting.
However, at the time the editorial was written, the commissioner of the
RCMP and numerous other people in positions of authority had suggested that
the farm was a grow-op. As the writer of the editorial, I took their word
for it.
Details were few and sketchy at the time and much more has come out since
then. It appears that the shooter, James Roszko, had been in almost
constant trouble with the police and many of his neighbours, as well as
most of his own family.
So to those who feel the editorial was negative about marijuana (even
though it did suggest that legalization may be worthwhile), that's why it
was worded the way it was.
I also received an e-mail from a local federal Liberal Party activist, who
said I should apologize for linking the Liberals to the shooting. His point
was that it had little to do with marijuana. He's quite right on that point.
However, conspicuously absent from his e-mail was any reference to the gun
registry, brought in by the federal Liberals and a proven waste of tax dollars.
If the gun registry was working as we are told it should, Roszko would not
have had a gun. He has been in constant trouble with the law. He's taken
shots at people. He's followed RCMP officers and their wives around. He's
been convicted of a serious offence and been in jail.
Yet he not only had a gun, but he used it on four police officers. From
what we can tell, he ambushed them and murdered them in as cold-blooded a
way as the most notorious gangland killer.
I have yet to see one member of the local federal Liberals admit that the
gun registry does not work and is a monumental waste of tax dollars. For
their inability to recognize facts pointed out by the auditor general and
continual wilingness to waste tax dollars, they are the ones who should
apologize.
In addition, the federal Liberals don't even listen to their own. A
resolution from local Liberal Ginny Hasselfield that there be minimum
sentences for people convicted of operating grow-ops was handily turned
down at their recent policy convention.
My conclusion stands - the federal Liberals had a great deal to do with the
deaths of the four RCMP officers in Alberta.
