MAKE POT LAWS TOUGHER
I'm not in favour of relaxing the laws against the growth or use of
marijuana. In fact, I feel the laws should be made tougher.
But I do agree with your editorial that the Canadian government should
study the short and long-term effects of marijuana smoking.
This should be done before a decision is made to decriminalize possession
of marijuana.
Despite numerous studies, marijuana-legalization advocates continue to
ignore the potential for adverse physical, mental and social outcomes of
repeated marijuana use.
It is hard to understand why the courts have been increasingly lenient with
marijuana grow operators when their numbers are increasing.
You'd think the government would be more interested in trying to keep their
numbers down.
