OTT WAS HALFWAY THERE
Dear Editor,
Re: "It wasn't marijuana's fault," Mar. 10. Terry Ott correctly informed us
that prohibiting alcohol and marijuana leads to more deaths, more crime and
more police officers being thrust into harm's way, so why does he want
heroin, cocaine and meth to continue to be prohibited? It can't be because
he doesn't use these drugs, could it?
Hopefully Mr Ott will explain in a future column why prohibiting some drugs
causes these problems while prohibiting other drugs does not. The truth is
that prohibiting any drug causes more harm than allowing users to purchase
the drug legally at the corner store. Ditto for gambling. Ditto for
prostitution.
