HIGHER THAN GOLD

WHY ARE we so surprised that the marijuana industry is alive and well and
growing in Canada? Simple arithmetic reveals the street price of marijuana
is as high as, or higher than, gold! The overhead to refine gold is huge,
the overhead to grow/cultivate pot is small. Abolition? Didn't work for
booze, won't work for pot. Decriminalization? That's like being a little
bit pregnant. The huge profits are still in the hands of people outside the
law. Legalization? The only alternative. You can howl that marijuana is the
gateway drug to crack cocaine and heroin, but you know that's not true. The
real "gateway drug" was in our parents' liquor cabinet.
