NEW LAW WOULD PROTECT PUBLIC AGAINST METH

To the Editor:

In response to the letter, "Sneezers penalized under proposed bill," March
24, I take exception to the writer's view that innocent people are burdened
by this new law to keep pseudoephedrine behind lock and key and to require
I.D. before selling the drug to anyone.

Meth labs are the most dangerous and fastest growing infestation in our
society. They are more prevalent in the South. The labs are rampant in
Florida and Tennessee.

Methamphetamine is more addictive than cocaine. This law is long overdue
and serves to protect us all from drugged-out drivers, fires and explosions
that often occur in these labs, stealing and robbing for money to purchase
the drug, and most of all the lives that are ruined.

At some time during any shopping day, I am required to show my I.D. to
someone. Big deal! We must support law enforcement in stopping this plague now.
