POT REGULATION CAN WORK WELL
Editor, The News:
In Greg Knill's March 29 column ('Calls to legalize pot a
smokescreen'), he is very right when he says that we should not give
up on the fight over marijuana grow-ops.
But we desperately need to change our strategies.
Canadians have a fascination with being able to drink on the street in
other countries to be very interesting.
The most interesting thing is that the "no drinking on the street ban"
can be enforced at all without a complete liquor ban, because Canada
seems to be quite unique.
And for a country that can regulate alcohol so well, I fail to see why
we couldn't successfully regulate the growing, distribution, and use
of marijuana.
