HEROIN FOR JUNKIES, NO MEDICINE FOR ILL
I've recently read that some senior citizens have been denied medicine
under the PharmaCare program. They have to pay for their medicines out
of their pockets, draining what meager resources they have.
I've also read that in Vancouver, we're setting up safe, warm
injection sites for heroin addicts. There's talk of giving them free
heroin. No medicine for genuine needy folks, to stay alive in some
cases, but free heroin for addicts! Safe injection sites, yet hospital
wards so full patients are shelved in hallways.
Have we gone berserk? If the free heroin program goes ahead, will the
hospital wards be under more stress, with an influx of addicts coming
for the freebies?
