END THE DESTRUCTIVE WAR ON DRUGS
We have another example of how laws create crime. "16 students led
away in handcuffs" (April 2) tells that an investigator posing as a
student purchased marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ecstasy and
Klonopin.
These substances are available but illegal. Why are they illegal? Our
lawmakers have decided they are harmful, hence must be "controlled."
These laws do not eliminate the substances; they only make the price a
hundred times higher, and prevent honest drugstores from handling
them. They give the market to the people willing to disobey the law.
Libertarians say end the drug war. Repeal the laws.
