B.C. ELECTION: MARIJUANA APOLOGY OFFERED
Dear Editor,
As the Marijuana Party candidate for Parkdale-Highpark, Toronto, may I
apologize for Marc Emery's comments regarding the elderly [Profile: Radical
changes offered, April 12, Langley Advance News], which is neither the
policy for the Marijauna Party of Canada nor, I believe, the BCMP.
The elderly have endured some tough times during this era of marijuana
prohibition and government corruption. They deserve our respect and a
right to quality health care in Canada.
Emery's comments are only out of frustration and should be taken with
a grain of salt.
No doubt, with the legalization of marijuana, funding would be
available to insure quality health care for all Canadians.
Present health care is a sham in Canada, exploiting children,
disabled, and elderly for non-therapeutic chemical and surgical
experimentation, with no regard for informed consent.
No doubt, there are many elderly people who would benefit from
legalization of marijuana, and not be a strain on the costs of health
care.
Marc Emery should embrace the elderly and all of his constiuents with
compassion and respect, if he expects to win any kind of election.
