BUMPER HARVEST IN MARCH FOR BURNABY RCMP 'GREEN TEAM'
Burnaby's Green Team were busy throughout March.
For the month they seized 1,899 marijuana plants and arrested five male
suspects and one female during their investigations into illegal marijuana
grow operations.
The team is also busy in April. On Thursday they busted another grow-op.
Working in conjunction with the problem-oriented police (POP) team, they
executed a search warrant on a home at 18 Howard Avenue. Two male suspects
were arrested inside the home and 378 plants seized. The investigation was
prompted by a report of the theft of hydro electricity.
* The newly formed POP team has also been busy since starting April 1. The
12-member squad has already arrested more than a dozen individuals wanted
on outstanding arrest warrants for things like breach of probation,
impaired driving, theft, robbery, drug offences and property crimes.
* The southeast district community police office will be part of the
Edmonds annual spring clean-up on April 30. The Edmonds Town Centre
Business and Community Association is organizing the event, which runs from
10 a.m. to noon.
RCMP officers, auxiliary constables, staff and volunteers from the office
will take part and help remove graffiti and clean-up garbage. It's the
fifth year for the spring clean-up. All property owners are also encouraged
to take part.
