BEWARE OF POT

To the editor:

Re: The marijuana issue that keeps coming up. Legalize it, make it
illegal--whatever.

People will continue to grow it, smoke it, sell it, give it away and use it
no matter how or what the government chooses to do.

I've agreed to disagree. There are pros and cons on the whole subject. But
alcohol and tobacco are drugs. They are both items that can be purchased in
stores and both kill.

For myself, pot was my gateway to other drugs. I started smoking at 13
years old, by 15 I'd tried cocaine and LSD, by 19 I was injecting drugs and
being a thief. For 27 years I chose to be an addict and my life has become
one of hurts, pains and many regrets. Drugs destroy and kill our very souls.

The assistant attorney general has a very valid point, that pot is being
used by younger kids these days. It's sad. So to those who chose to use,
beware, pot may or may not become the gateway to your child's destruction.

A drug is a drug and the "choices we make dictate the life we live." So if
you choose to use, be prepared to lose your money, property, family and
jobs and the love of your life. Prison is no place to wake up and realize
you've lost your life to drugs.
