MARIJUANA IS PART OF AMERICAN LIFE; IT'S SAFER AND HEALTHIER THAN BOOZE

Thank you to Dave Swarthout of Homer for his letter to the editor printed
April 8 ("Antimarijuana bill is packed with errors, unproven statements").
He hit the nail right on the head.

I know of many who use pot in order to stop their drinking. Never, ever the
other way around. This should tell us something. People can function and
live normal lives with pot. I know several of these people personally.
Believe me, you don't want these people on the road after happy hour. The
weed war is over. Weed wins! It is clearly much safer and better for you
than booze. I have worked both angles, I know.

On another note, any hypocrite who drinks alcohol in any amount should not
be allowed to vote antiweed. It's insane to do so. They are martini-guzzling
hypocrites.

Pot is deeply embedded in American life. A vote against the use of pot could
be a vote to send your child or grandchild to prison.

Last of all, but not least, most users are very productive, responsible,
peace-loving people. They make good friends and neighbors. Let's stop the
persecution and direct our energy into something more positive and
productive. To put people in jail for pot is a crime against humanity.
