RESTORING RESPECT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
Editor:
Your article, "Legalize Drugs, Former Cop Says" (April 15, 2005),
helps restore respect to law enforcement people, since lately we hear
some police agencies are lobbying to expand the war on drugs and
cannabis for their own benefit.
Howard Wooldridge illustrates it: North America needs credible drug
law reform. The original prohibition was an example of sickening human
behavior. Now the sequel, lasting five times longer, is worse and is
eating away at society at every facet.
Murder rates decreased for 10 years after the repeal of the original
prohibition; imagine the benefits North America will reap when we
repeal the sequel.
With news like this, perhaps police will get off the pot and help lead
the reform instead of leading us down the road to ruin.
