TAXPAYERS FOOT THE WAR ON DRUGS TAB
Editor:
I am not sure what Allen Wollscheidt imagined he read that reputed the
ideas of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, but I have followed
these articles in the Payson Roundup and I see nothing that challenges
the idea that the illegal nature of drugs creates black markets that
are controlled by criminals that charge highly inflated prices that
indirectly cause drug users to resort to crime to fund their habit.
The whole argument that drug users hurt other people close to them is
out of context when you consider the greater harm done to society by
the illegal black market. Let those with drug problems seek medical
help in overcoming their difficulties and leave the rest of us out of
it.
We don't need to pay to have them in prison and we don't want to be
robbed to support the black market.
