US DOESN'T WANT COMPETITION

Dear editor:

Bush should be prevented from tampering with the Canadian-American border
(Tighter border not a good thing, Chatham This Week, April 27).

Let's get this straight: After the 9-11 attacks, the United States
tightened its borders, but cannabis makes the US really tighten the border.

Canada could more legitimately tighten their border to protect them from
arguably the most terrorizing man on earth -- the US president -- than the
US can legitimatize tightening the border over cannabis.

From past experience, a reasonable person may conclude that Bush is
tightening the border to stop Canadian competition with products he and his
friends manufacture.
