DRUGS IN OUR SOCIETY
Crystal meth is now very widely distributed and is even being put into
marijuana joints.
It is easily made and extremely addictive. Meth pushers are merciless in
hooking our young people and once they are hooked, they are vulnerable to
all kinds of exploitation.
While our federal Liberal government ponders the decriminalization of
marijuana, we should be doing more to try to encourage drug prevention.
How can we be so asleep to what is really happening? This is a drug crisis
which is destroying families and society in general.
It is time we got involved to fight a criminal justice system that has
become so liberalized that our children have no standards to judge right
from wrong.
The criminal justice system no longer gives support to our police, our
families or our society in general.
I must admit, I am on a rant but it is about our next generation.
We are so worried about the welfare of criminals, pushers and addicts that
we have forgotten about the victims.
I have heard many stories from constituents regarding the tragic situations
they face because either them or a love one is hooked on some sort of
illegal drug.
As a father and grandfather those words are nothing short of horrifying.
Many fellow members of the Conservative Party caucus have presented private
members bills designed to halt drug use in this country.
The latest is one from Rob Merrifield that I will be happy to vote for.
We must turn our society away from illegal drugs in order to protect future
generations from this evil.
Until next time....
