HIDING HEADS IN SAND OVER MARIJUANA
Re: Marijuana Party shut out of Surrey school debates, May 6.
I must agree with B.C. Marijuana Party candidate Amanda Boggan. I am also a
parent and I want a system that protects kids from being exploited by
dealers and traffickers.
The only way to keep our kids safe from dealers and traffickers is to
legalize and regulate the use of marijuana in a similar manner to alcohol.
Keeping our teenagers away from harm should be our priority. Our young
people need honest, science-based information about drugs so that they can
make responsible choices.
"Just say no" does not work, nor will hiding our heads in the sand by
forbidding the Marijuana Party to participate in all-candidates' forums. Or
should we say "nearly all" candidates' forums?
