STOP RANTING AND STICK TO FACTS, MR. GARR

To the editor:

To prove his point that the safe injection site has been a success, Allen
Garr compares figures from 1996, '97 and '98 with today's numbers and
points out that figures for overdose, HIV and Hep C are down ("MLA has
political death wish," May 4).

This is typical of how Garr consistently attempts to mislead readers. Why
not use figures for the last pre-safe injection site year and compare those
to today's numbers. They may or may not back up Mr. Garr's claims, but how
are we to know?

One could argue that the numbers today are up since 1970, therefore the
site is a failure. Just the facts please Mr. Garr, not your all- too-common
left-wing rant.
