DRUG SEARCH BILL APPROVED
The Senate approved a bill expanding when law officers are allowed to
search dwellings for the manufacture of methamphetamines. State law
now restricts such warrant-authorized searches to 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The proposed law would allow searches between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The measure, Senate Bill 432, goes to the governor for his
consideration. It passed 43-1 in the Senate. It earlier passed in the
House, 101-0.
