DRUG DIALOGUE TO GO WITH A SWING
Pivot Legal Society lawyer David Eby told the Straight that he is
baffled by Metro Vancouver's location selection for a series of
discussions on drugs and crime in the city.
According to the Metro Vancouver Web site, the city is hosting a
series of talks called "Drugs and Crime: Dealing With Your Drug
Problem". Meetings have been scheduled for the Eaglequest Coyote
Creek golf club in Surrey, the Hollyburn Country Club in West
Vancouver, and the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody.
Eby questioned the value of such talks when they are held at "country
clubs and in areas that aren't traditionally accessible to the
population that usually has to deal with the drug problems and with poverty".
