SAFE-INJECTION SITE APPLAUDED
In regards to safe-injection sites, we know, through years of experience,
that prohibitive approaches to drug use doesn't work.
Secondly, if police arrest every person they see using drugs, they still
couldn't control the problem.
Such an approach would, in fact, only perpetuate the problem, because once
an addict is released, he or she will have developed such a craving for
heroin that they will likely commit a robbery to get the money they need to
buy more.
That seems like a waste of taxpayers' money to me.
Good for Mayor Larry Campbell for following a harm reduction strategy.
It is about time someone did.
