THE MARINOL ALTERNATIVE

Re "Ailing users loyal to pot," June 8: In all the articles and TV news
stories, why does no one mention that the active ingredient in marijuana is
available in pill form (Marinol)? I'm sure that most who insist they have
to smoke pot could take Marinol or other medications without problems and
avoid the health issues of inhaling smoke. I took Marinol when I was
undergoing chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant treatments, and it
worked fine.

Most "medical marijuana" users are just looking for an excuse to smoke pot.

There is definitely a political agenda behind this issue, and I applaud the
Supreme Court for upholding the illegality of pot smoking.
