MAN, NOT GOD, CONDEMNS MARIJUANA
Regarding John Gatti's letter Monday "Marijuana use an un-Christian act":
The problem with most zealots, whether affirming their religious or
political views, is they are so narrow-minded and sure-fired certain
that their way is the only way. They condemn those who don't share
their beliefs to the fires of eternity on this planet or elsewhere.
This country is made up of people from many faiths, and while God may be
in control of Mr. Gatti's life, others certainly would disagree.
I do not believe that God made marijuana illegal; man and his laws
have made marijuana illegal here. I guess in Amsterdam, where
marijuana is legal, it is a Christian pleasure in God's eye, but here
in this country it is an un-Christian pleasure, whether for pleasure
or to relieve someone's suffering.
I never would have thought of God as being so hypocritical.
