THE HIGH COURT, HIGH TEENS AND STATE LAW ON MARIJUANA
Botanical marijuana as medicine is endangering the health and public
safety of all - especially youth. There's no way to prevent or even
quantify diversion to the illegal drug market when "patients" and
"dispensaries" have gardens of plants and can possess large amounts.
California law allows use for "any other illness for which marijuana
provides relief," not just patients with no other options. It's easy
to buy the required "recommendation"; just check the papers for ads by
both "doctors" and "dispensaries."
Sick people are not being prosecuted for possession, but the
misperception that marijuana is harmless is hurting San Diegans
through school failures, driving while high and neglected families.
