CRYSTAL METH IS A SCOURGE THAT MUST BE ERADICATED
Having spent part of last fall in Florida, I saw many candidates'
advertisements in the November Congressional elections.
Unlike here in Canada, conservative candidates made it very clear
where they stood on trafficking and production of crystal meth because
of its horrendous social costs that come from its availability and
use.
If children were found in a meth lab, they were to be immediately
taken from the parents for their appalling lack of responsibility in
allowing their children to be around such explosive and hazardous materials.
As well, mandatory five-year jail terms without parole were to be
imposed on producers and traffickers.
The cost of incarceration of these individuals may be high, but it
pales in comparison to the horrendous cost of allowing this
soul-destroying chemical to irreversibly ravage the lives of the youth
in this country.
It is clearly time for all politicians and those in the judiciary to
make it clear to the world that there is zero tolerance for crystal
meth in Canada.
