DRUG WAR DANGERS RISE

Dane Schiller's front-page story about cartel leader Joaquin "El
Chapo" Guzman Loera and the drug situation in Mexico was very
informative ("Mexico's most wanted man," Sunday).

The situation there is critical and much more dangerous than the
average person in our country realizes. Those who have expertise in
this area know the situation is increasingly serious and fueled by
multiple issues.

The safety and welfare of our agents, news media and citizens visiting
Mexico is not assured. These people are at a high risk. I hope
Schiller takes every precaution necessary to ensure his safety
following this story.

I would like to see us close our borders until Mexico gets its
problems under control.
