DID THE CRIME RATE RISE WHEN PROHIBITION ENDED?
In response to "Let's win the war on drugs" (June 16):Those who
forget the lessons and mistakes made in the past are doomed to repeat
them. I would suggest that John Emerson review the history of the
first war on an illegal substance. Does he really think there was
more crime after Prohibition was repealed? This is just ridiculous.
