ILLEGAL DRUGS DESTROYING LIVES IN BUFFALO NARROWS

Buffalo Narrows is known as a village where you can buy the drug of your
choice. It is also a distribution point where people from the surrounding
villages can come and replenish their depleted or exhausted supplies most
of the time. This has been going on for 20 or 30 years, with impunity. It
is being done day in and day out without fear of being raided or caught.

The people who are in it for profit and not just to feed their own hunger
are getting richer as time goes on. We all know that whatever legal
business they have is not making money for them, but they always seem to
have money to burn.

If they cannot be caught and charged for dealing in illegal drugs, the
alternative is getting them through the Canada Revenue Agency. And if and
when they are caught, charged and convicted, they should be given the
stiffest penalty that the law allows and their properties should be
confiscated and sold to the highest bidder.

It's time that something is done about this wide-open dealing of drugs in
our village. There are young people who are drug addicts and are so far
gone that they have all but lost interest in doing anything, such as trying
to get a job. Even small children pool their money to buy a joint, and they
certainly know where to go to get that joint.

Crystal meth has made its way into the northwest communities, and that is
one of the worst drugs that these people are using. It is very highly
addictive and can and will destroy parts of the brain. I implore and beg
those in power to do their utmost to stamp out this criminal activity that
is ruining our young people now and will in the future. The people of the
northwest are fed up and tired of seeing these people thumbing their noses
at the law.
