KUDOS TO FLAKE FOR MARIJUANA VOTE
I want to personally thank Rep. Jeff Flake for his support of the
Hinchey-Rohrabacher medical marijuana amendment. This law, had it
passed, would have prevented the federal government from arresting
and jailing medical marijuana patients and their caregivers.
Congress defeated the amendment by a vote of 264-161. Rep. Jeff Flake
(R-Ariz) was one of only 15 Republican Congress members who voted in
favor it. Rep. Flake (R-Ariz) was joined by Arizona Democrats Ed
Pastor and Raul Grijalva in voting for this legislation.
It seems that all the other Republican members of Congress from
Arizona felt that the profits of the pharmaceutical companies are
more important than relieving the pain and suffering of severely sick
and terminally ill patients.
