DRUG DEAN IN SCHOOL OUSTER
A disgraced Staten Island middle-school dean who was snorting cocaine
while heading a drug-counseling program for youngsters should be
barred from the school system, a state appeals panel ruled yesterday.
Michael Campbell, 41, was suspended with pay from IS 72 after he was
busted in 2002 with marijuana and cocaine.
The city Department of Education appealed a decision that had allowed
him to return to work after drug counseling, and yesterday a judicial
panel upheld the appeal and found the original ruling to be
"irrational and to defy common sense."
