EYE FOR AN EYE JUSTICE? NO THANK YOU

To the editor:

Mr. Helmut Somogyi (Criminals in Canada Get Off Easy, June 29 Capital News)
stated that he would like to see some of the crime statistics from the
country whose system recently sentenced a young Aussie lady to 20 years
hard time, despite her evidence and pleas that the marijuana in question
was planted in her luggage.

If Mr Somogyi is as fortunate as that poor young lady, someone will use him
and his checked luggage as an unwitting mule too-then he can see the stats
and live them as she now is.
