LAW WON'T WORK

Re: Pot profits will soon be seized," Jul. 14, The Star.

Since the police only apprehend only a tiny minority of those involved in
marijuana grow operations, the only justification for this new law must be
that the deep thinkers within the Liberal party feel it will convince more
of us to vote for them.

Sadly, it is not important to the politicians that they actually fight crime
but that they are perceived by the voters as fighting crime. Hence this
useless new law. Hence the law banning the supposedly harmful drugs used by
various minorities. Hence the freedom allowed the users of other harmful
drugs used by the majority.
